Coushatta Legacy Tower grand opening at Coushatta Casino Resort in Kinder, Louisiana

The Coushatta Legacy Tower grand opening signals far more than the arrival of another hotel building in Southwest Louisiana. It represents a substantial investment in the future of the Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana, while giving guests a more polished, culturally grounded arrival experience at the state’s largest casino resort.

Located in Kinder, Louisiana, Coushatta Casino Resort celebrated the opening of the 204-room Legacy Tower with Tribal leaders, resort executives, elected officials, development partners and community members. The addition includes 100 luxury suites and raises the resort’s total room inventory to more than 1,000.

Coushatta Legacy Tower Grand Opening Blends Growth With Heritage

The ceremony unfolded inside the new tower’s lobby and included a Tribal blessing, the introduction of Tribal Princesses, traditional performances, leadership remarks and a ribbon cutting.

David Sickey, Chairman of the Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana, described the project as a lasting investment shaped by both memory and responsibility.

“Legacy Tower represents more than growth for Coushatta,” Sickey said. “It reflects our commitment to building something lasting for future generations while honoring the legacy of those who came before us.”

That message is visible throughout the property. The new tower combines contemporary luxury with design details inspired by the Tribe’s cultural heritage. Patterns and textures throughout the interiors draw from traditional Coushatta basketry, allowing the building to tell a story without turning culture into decoration.

The tower also reshapes the physical identity of the resort. A seven-story LED display anchors the exterior, while a redesigned connecting lobby creates a more unified path to the property’s hotels, gaming, dining and entertainment spaces.

A Bigger Front Door for a Regional Destination

General Manager Nate Tanner called the expansion a new chapter for the resort, pointing to the improved arrival experience and more seamless connection between guest areas.

The Coushatta Legacy Tower grand opening also advances the resort’s “Bigger, Better Coushatta” initiative, a multi-year plan focused on hospitality upgrades, tourism growth and regional economic development.

That expansion has implications well beyond the casino floor. Additional hotel capacity strengthens the resort’s ability to attract guests from Louisiana, East Texas and other regional markets, while supporting jobs and visitor spending across the area.

Project partners recognized during the ceremony included TBE Architects, Yates Construction and The Wenaha Group.

With nearly 2,000 slot and table games, live poker, bingo, sports betting, four hotels, a lazy river, entertainment venues and Louisiana’s top-rated golf course, Coushatta has steadily evolved into a full-scale resort destination.

The Coushatta Legacy Tower grand opening now gives that destination a more commanding entrance, one built around luxury, continuity and Tribal pride.

Reservations are available now through the official Coushatta Casino Resort website.
