Next Generation of Filmmakers at 7th Annual Youth Film Festival
Young Storytellers Take Center Stage as New York State Senator Robert Jackson Joins Celebration of Creativity, Education, and Community
In an era where young voices are shaping conversations across media, the Five4Five Youth Film Festival continues to provide a powerful platform for the next generation of storytellers. On Friday, May 29, 2026, Five4Five Productions, in partnership with Inwood Art Works, will host its 7th Annual Youth Film Festival, bringing together student filmmakers, educators, families, artists, and community leaders for an inspiring afternoon dedicated to creativity and artistic achievement.
The Five4Five Youth Film Festival will be held at Campbell Sports Center at Columbia University in New York City from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public, offering attendees an opportunity to experience original films created by talented young artists participating in Five4Five Productions’ year-round arts and filmmaking programs.
Adding to the significance of the occasion, New York State Senator Robert Jackson is expected to attend in support of youth arts education and creative expression. Senator Jackson, who represents the 31st Senate District covering Northern Manhattan and parts of the West Bronx, has long championed educational opportunities and community investment.
“When young people are given the tools to tell their own stories, they do more than create art, they expand the moral imagination of our society,” Senator Jackson said. “A camera in the hands of a child can become an instrument of truth, dignity, and possibility. Investing in the arts is not ornamental work for government; it is democratic work.”
His remarks underscore the festival’s broader mission of empowering youth through storytelling while fostering confidence, collaboration, and self-expression.
For Five4Five Productions, the festival represents more than a showcase of films. It serves as a culmination of months of creative exploration, mentorship, and skill-building.
“The festival reflects our commitment to creating spaces where students feel supported and inspired through the arts,” representatives from Five4Five Productions said. “Through original student-created films developed in our year-round filmmaking and arts education programs, young creators are given a professional platform to share and celebrate their work.”
The partnership with Inwood Art Works further strengthens the event’s commitment to nurturing local talent and enriching New York City’s vibrant arts community. Together, the organizations continue to demonstrate how access to creative opportunities can transform lives and strengthen neighborhoods.
As audiences gather to watch stories crafted through the eyes of emerging filmmakers, the event promises an afternoon filled with imagination, innovation, and inspiration. More importantly, it highlights the remarkable potential that emerges when young people are encouraged to create, collaborate, and dream boldly.
