Wilmington, North Carolina is about to get a double dose of joy and justice when Emmy-winning comedian, TV personality, and national treasure Loni Love rolls into town this summer as headliner for a night of comedy with a cause. Best known as the quick-witted co-host of The Real, Loni will take center stage at the STAND UP for OOPS Comedy Show — and keeping the energy flowing all night will be none other than Wilmington’s own Orlando Jones, serving as the evening’s host.
On Friday, August 22nd at 7 PM, the Terraces on Sir Tyler (1826 Sir Tyler Drive, Wilmington, NC) will be transformed into a hub of laughter, community pride, and cultural celebration. Orlando Jones — actor, activist, and longtime supporter of Wilmington’s youth — will guide the audience through a stacked night of entertainment, leading up to Loni Love’s can’t-miss headlining set.
The lineup also includes Tru Spit, Dallas Brown, Khristin Brooks, Janeen Slaughter, Charles Ozuna, plus a live musical performance from Nazzy the Mic. Together, they’ll deliver an unforgettable mix of humor and artistry to benefit Wilmington’s next generation.
A Day for Loni — Literally
In a history-making move, Mayor Bill Saffo will proclaim August 22nd as “Loni Love Day” in Wilmington. The proclamation honors Loni’s cultural influence, her trailblazing contributions to comedy, and her dedication to community empowerment.
It’s not every day a city gives you your own day — and with Loni in the spotlight, expect this one to be full of big laughs and even bigger love.
Laughter Meets Legacy
The show is produced by Karon Tunis of Anything But Weddings Productions, a creative powerhouse known for turning live events into experiences that matter. Tunis’s vision for the evening is clear: make people laugh, make them think, and make an impact.
“Laughter is a universal healer, and this show is about more than jokes — it’s about legacy,” Tunis says. “With Loni Love, Orlando Jones, and an incredible cast of performers, we’re raising funds and raising the energy for Wilmington’s future.”
Proceeds will benefit the OOPS Foundation (Offering Optimistic Plans for Success), led by CEO Atiba Johnson. The nonprofit empowers youth through mentorship, creative development, and career-building opportunities in the arts and beyond.
