On the 20th anniversary of its iconic “Fashion for Action” fundraiser, Housing Works is setting the stage for a remarkable four-day designer shopping event that underscores the importance of sustainability in the fashion industry.
From November 8th to 11th, the highly-anticipated benefit event, aptly titled “(RE)Fashion for Action”, is promising attendees an exclusive opportunity to purchase brand-new designer merchandise at jaw-dropping prices of up to 80% off. But the event isn’t just about great fashion deals. Housing Works, a renowned NYC non-profit dedicated to providing services to those impacted by homelessness and HIV/AIDS, is using this platform to advocate for sustainable practices in the world of fashion.
Stellar Line-up & Exclusive Merchandise
Hosted by actor and activist Patricia Clarkson, a staunch supporter of Housing Works, the event will feature coveted items from a star-studded list of contributors, including Mia Moretti, J. Logan Horne, Tavi Gevinson, and many more. Top brands like Marc Jacobs, Helmut Lang, Issey Miyake, and Vans are among the many whose items will be on sale, both in-store and online.
This year’s event adds an extra layer of exclusivity with a selection of unique curated pieces available only at the Housing Works eShop. These items, handpicked by personalities such as Kelly Bensimon, Stella Keitel, and Max Siegelman, are expected to draw significant attention.
A Spotlight on Sustainability
This benefit is not just a shopping spree, but a mission. Housing Works is collaborating with the fashion community to encourage sustainable practices, cutting down waste, and fostering an eco-friendly environment. As part of this endeavor, a panel discussion on sustainability in retail will take place on November 2nd. Led by Michelle Tarry, VP of Responsible Sourcing & Sustainability at AEO Inc., the panel will feature prominent voices, including representatives from Calvin Klein and Macy’s Inc.
