Celebrate Survivors with Music Beats Cancer and a Night of Food, Music, and Fun

On Thursday, June 8, 2023, during National Cancer Survivors Month, Music Beats Cancer will hold its first annual Celebrating Survivors: A Benefit Concert at Terminal 5 in New York City, featuring celebrity chef Maria Loi and DJ SALTY (Lee Kalt and Xandra K).

Lawrence Taylor will host the red carpet, an invitation-only event. A variety of guests will attend, including sponsors and their guests, innovators, and members of the media.

Following the red carpet, Get The Led Out will perform at the benefit concert, which will include an auction and live appeal to support cancer biomedical start-ups.

In order to provide more cancer-fighting solutions to those in need, Music Beats Cancer’s mission is to increase the number of technologies in the product-development pipeline. By supporting the nonprofit, individuals can help advance new solutions and promising cancer treatments. By doing so, start-ups are able to escape the “Valley of Death,” a severe funding gap that leads to their abandonment. Despite their promising ideas, most of these start-ups fail before they can prove their potential, not because their ideas are bad, but because they lack the crucial funding. The goal of Music Beats Cancer is to change this.

“This novel idea of using music and passion to push forward and financially support new technologies and cancer solutions is amazing, and I’m proud to be a part of it,” said Loi.

DJ Lee Kalt echoes this, “This issue has personally affected our lives and our families; therefore, we felt it was important for us to contribute to this event.”

Ticket information and purchase can be found at musicbeatscancer.org.
