Fleet Week, a celebration dedicated to U.S. Navy, Coast Guard and Marine Corps, takes place in New York City annually since 1984. Despite the impression created by a certain episode of Sex and the City, Fleet Week isn’t only an opportunity for single ladies to meet attractive sailors. It’s also a chance to watch the parade of ships and huge aircraft carriers, enormous warships, and historic boats. And then there’s the demonstration of today’s maritime services’ capabilities. And, of course, the Flagship Brewery’s Fleet Week Music Festival where you can enjoy the music of local bands, dance, and buy a pint of beer for an officer.
