Women in STEAM: A Force for Change

Globant (NYSE: GLOB), a digitally native company focused on reinventing businesses through innovative technology solutions, launched the fourth annual Women that Build Awards to recognize women and women-identifying individuals for their achievements, inspiration, and promotion of inclusion in STEAM fields. As well as providing visibility, education, and networking opportunities, it encourages women-identifying individuals to pursue and excel in the technology field.

Globally, women hold only 24% of technology leadership positions (World Economic Forum), while they also switch jobs at a higher rate than their male counterparts (McKinsey & Company). Underrepresentation of women in AI and Machine Learning – with only 22% and 12% of jobs held by women, respectively – will only increase the gender gap in STEM (UNESCO). Due to this, companies must provide equal pay, career advancement, flexibility, employee well-being, diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Nominations will be accepted in two categories for the fourth edition:

Inspiring Leader: This category will recognize VPs, Managers, Directors, leaders, founders, or subject matter experts with more than 5 (five) years of experience who are generating a positive impact in the STEAM fields.

Rising Star: This category will recognize powerful and talented women starting a career in technology, entrepreneurs, and founders or co-founders of startups with positive effects on business offerings related to STEAM.

NYSE, Salesforce, Women Corporate Directors, Udemy and Coachub are supporting this edition of the Women That Build Awards, which will also be promoted locally by 40 organizations.

A trip to the United States will be awarded to the global winners at the end of October 2023, and their names will appear on the NYSE’s Time Square billboard during the promotion of the 5th Women That Build Awards Edition in 2024. A Udemy Business license and an executive coaching program from Coach Hub will also be provided to the 24 regional winners according to their language, needs, and career prospects.

A total of more than 5,000 candidates participated in the previous three editions, 190K+ votes, 118 regional winners, 15 global winners, 110+ supporting associations, such as eMerge, Endeavor, nPower, and HITEC, among others, and 160+ international judges, including Lynn Martin, President of the New York Stock Exchange, Shari-Loessberg, Senior Lecturer at MIT Sloan School of Management, Rosario Marin, Owner of Marin & Marin LLC, Jorge Milburn, Director Sales & Ops EMEA at Tesla; Linda Rottenberg, CEO & Co-founder of Endeavor Global.

There is still time to nominate and vote for the Women Awards at www.womenawards.globant.com until June 12.
