Some albums want your attention. HAAi DIGITiSE wants your sneakers. Out today on Mute, the new LP from the London-based, Australian-born producer, songwriter and DJ picks up last year’s acclaimed HUMANiSE and, in her words, walks it to the club.
What HAAi DIGITiSE Sounds Like
HAAi calls the record HUMANiSE’s “bigger, ravey sibling,” and she means it. She built these tracks to be played out. For months she slipped them into her DJ sets, watching the floor and tightening every groove and breakdown in real time.
The handoff between albums is literal. The choir that faded out HUMANiSE returns on the opener, “RE-HUMANiSE,” before the record heads straight for the dance floor. The theme carries over too: staying human in an increasingly digital world. Her answer, as always, is a room full of people moving together.
A Children’s Choir From Medellín
The emotional center of the album is “Talking Walls,” HAAi’s collaboration with New York-raised producer Skybreak. It features Cantoalegre, a Medellín children’s choir founded in 1984. HAAi has played the Colombian city many times. During a festival trip in January, she had the idea to work with a local kids’ choir, and two hours later she was on the phone with the principal.
Hearing her lyrics sung by the next generation, she says, gave them new hope. Her own review is even simpler: “It’s one to hug your mates to at the festival.” Watch the video here.
A Community on Record
The guest list mirrors HAAi’s world. Greek producer Echonomist joins her on “Ignition.” Pat Alvarez features on the title track, and James Massiah, Kaiden Ford and ILA return from earlier projects. The visuals, led by Martin Falck (Fever Ray, The Knife), are a playful, unapologetically camp answer to HUMANiSE’s dystopia. HAAi also shared a new “Ignition” (Live at Home) performance.
HAAi DIGITiSE Hits the Road: New York, Miami, San Francisco and LA
New Yorkers, clear your Saturday. On October 18, HAAi plays a 10-hour, open-to-close marathon at Refuge. That’s a full night of the kind of genre-hopping set that made her a Beatport Artist of the Month this summer.
Her US dates:
- Oct 16 – San Francisco, Cow Palace (supporting Dom Dolla, b2b DJ Seinfeld)
- Oct 17 – Miami, III Points Festival
- Oct 18 – New York, Refuge (open to close)
- Nov 27 – Los Angeles, Time Warp
- Nov 28 – San Francisco, The Great Northern
- Dec 3 – Miami, b2b Salute, Raw Cuts at The Ground
Across the Atlantic, she plays an all-night Halloween set at EartH in London on October 31. Immersive production collective Playbody designed that show to break down the wall between the DJ booth and the crowd. In March 2027, she tours Australia with The Avalanches, including a stop at the Sydney Opera House.
The Bottom Line
HAAi has always treated the dance floor as a form of community. With HAAi DIGITiSE, she has made an album that proves the point. Stream or buy DIGITiSE here, and see you at Refuge.
