Free People Summer Social is bringing a breezy night of music, community, food, and film to Philadelphia. On Saturday, July 11, 2026, Free People will host “Feels Like Free People: A Summer Social” at Marine Parade Grounds in Navy Yard Park, turning a summer evening into a gathering of food trucks, lawn games, photo moments, giveaways, and a family-friendly documentary screening.
The event runs from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., with the screening of Cookie Queens beginning at 7:15 p.m. The rain date is Sunday, July 12, 2026. Tickets are $5 for adults, while children ages 15 and under are free. All ticket proceeds will benefit the Sundance Institute Documentary Fund, with guests also having the option to increase their donation at checkout.
Free People Summer Social feels right at home in Philadelphia, where the brand was born and where creative gatherings often have that neighborhood block-party-meets-art-house glow. Guests can expect food trucks with food available for purchase, complimentary water and lemonade, a DJ set, lawn games, photo moments, and free gifts and goodies while supplies last.
At the heart of the evening is Cookie Queens, a documentary directed by Alysa Nahmias. The film follows four girls during Girl Scout Cookie season as they chase big sales goals, navigate pressure, and discover what ambition looks like when childhood and business collide. Sundance described the film as part of its 2026 Family Matinee section, spotlighting the girls’ families, goals, doubts, and dreams.
The film was supported by the Free People Creative Spirit Fund, which is part of Free People’s broader initiative to support creative minds through grants. Free People partnered with the Sundance Institute Documentary Film Program to support five women documentary filmmakers, with recipients receiving $25,000 grants and mentorship from Sundance’s Documentary Film Program.
For families, film lovers, Free People fans, and anyone looking for a low-key summer outing with a little sparkle, Free People Summer Social offers a sweet mix of fun and purpose. It is a chance to gather under the July sky, enjoy music and community, and support independent documentary storytelling while celebrating a film centered on girlhood, drive, and the cookie-season hustle.
