Andie MacDowell holding the Gracies Icon Award at the 51st Annual Gracie Awards in Beverly Hills

There are award shows, and then there are evenings that feel like a living archive of courage, reinvention, and brilliance. The 51st Annual Gracie Awards, presented by the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation, delivered exactly that kind of electricity inside the iconic Beverly Wilshire, A Four Seasons Hotel on May 19, 2026.

At the center of the celebration stood Andie MacDowell, radiant in soft yellow and holding her Gracies Icon Award with the kind of grace that can only come from a woman who has fully stepped into her truth. In a room filled with Hollywood stars, journalists, creators, athletes, and cultural changemakers, MacDowell reminded everyone that authenticity never goes out of style.

“I have had the absolute audacity to age,” MacDowell shared during her acceptance speech, drawing laughter and applause from the crowd. “And I love everyone who has embraced it as much as I have.”

That moment alone captured the spirit of the evening.

Hosted by the endlessly charismatic Yvette Nicole Brown, the ceremony honored women whose voices continue to reshape media, culture, and storytelling across television, journalism, podcasting, streaming, and digital platforms. Brown delivered one of the night’s most memorable reflections when she reminded the audience that women in media were never simply invited into the room. They built their own.

The atmosphere inside the ballroom carried equal parts Hollywood glamour and emotional truth serum. Four-time GRAMMY nominee Mickey Guyton delivered a stirring performance of “Remember Her Name,” filling the room with a soulful reminder of resilience, identity, and visibility. Meanwhile, surprise presenter Stevie Wonder brought the audience to its feet during a heartfelt tribute recognizing journalism and storytelling.

The guest list sparkled like a constellation of powerhouse women and allies. Tina Knowles, Monica Lewinsky, Julianne Hough, Jameela Jamil, Abby Phillip, Leanne Morgan, and Paulina Chávez were among the winners and honorees celebrated throughout the night.

Presenters including Chrissy Teigen, Kelly Rowland, Raven-Symoné, Jordan Chiles, and Minka Kelly helped transform the evening into a vibrant celebration of women supporting women across generations and industries.

One of the most powerful themes threaded throughout the evening was reclamation. Women spoke openly about aging, trauma, healing, survival, and the importance of controlling their own narratives. It was less about polished perfection and more about radical honesty. The Gracies did not simply celebrate fame. They celebrated evolution.

For 51 years, the Gracie Awards have continued the legacy of legendary entertainer Gracie Allen by honoring media created by, for, and about women. This year’s ceremony also marked the 75th anniversary of the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation, making the evening feel even more historic.

As the final applause echoed through the Beverly Wilshire ballroom, the message of the night lingered beautifully in the air: women’s voices are not a trend, a category, or a sidebar to culture. They are the culture.
