Members of Nassau Chapter 718 with Easter Bunny during community outreach event at Bethany House in Nassau County

Strategic community engagement often reveals itself not in scale, but in execution. Nassau Chapter No. 718 of the Order of the Eastern Star demonstrated this with precision through its “Hop Into Hope – Easter Giving Drive,” part of its broader Stars in Motion service initiative.

The chapter’s approach reflects a model worth noting: structured leadership, collaborative partnerships, and measurable impact.

Under the direction of Worthy Matron Leslie Jacobs, the initiative delivered 14 fully curated Easter baskets to children supported by Bethany House, an organization serving families across Nassau County. Each basket represented thoughtful planning and intentional resource allocation.

Operational excellence was evident in the details. Lorraine Jacobs coordinated logistics and contributed to the experiential aspect of the event by preparing five dozen filled eggs, transforming a donation effort into an immersive celebration.

Engagement was further elevated through participation. Worthy Patron Amari Daniel-Bey’s role as the Easter Bunny added a human-centered touchpoint, reinforcing connection beyond material giving.

Community partnerships strengthened the initiative’s reach. Contributions from small businesses and local creatives underscored the importance of cross-sector collaboration in grassroots efforts.

This was more than a charitable act—it was a case study in effective community leadership.

Nassau Chapter No. 718 continues to position itself as an organization that not only serves, but leads with intention—setting a standard for how local chapters can drive meaningful, sustainable impact.
