The Hispanic Federation is hosting a free health and wellness fair today, Saturday June 3rd at its headquarters in New York City. The fair will offer free health screenings, COVID-19 testing, nutrition and cooking demos, fitness classes, mental health resources, financial wellness information, children’s activities, and more. All are welcome!
|“The COVID-19 pandemic amplified the health disparities Latinos have had to contend with for decades. To make matters worse, our community still faces barriers to life-saving healthcare coverage and resources across the country. This is why our Get Up! Get Moving! event is so important. We’re providing free, culturally competent healthcare resources in our community that protect and advance the well-being of everyone. I thank our partners for being a part of this important event and encourage all Neoyorquinos to attend and spread the word.”|
This event will feature live music, physical activities, dance competitions, free produce giveaways, COVID-19 tests, vaccines, boosters, and referrals to medical resources for families.
A program called All of Us Research is available to families as well as information on how to participate. One million or more people living in the US will be gathered for the purpose of accelerating research and improving health. It marks the 5th anniversary of the launch of the All of Us Research Program in New York. At this special ¡Vive tu vida! Get Up! Get Moving!®, event you can speak one-to-one with All of Us Research Program partners coming together from throughout New York and become one of the more than 600,000 people who have joined All of Us to date.
The fair will feature a variety of exhibitors, including health care providers, insurance companies, community organizations, and businesses. There will also be a number of health screenings available, including blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose, and HIV testing. COVID-19 testing will also be available.
In addition to health screenings, the fair will also feature a number of other activities, including:
