Comedians from Around the Country Head to Southampton for New Comedy Club

Local Talent to Join National Comedy Stars

Sticks and Stones Comedy Club is thrilled to announce the opening of its new location in Southampton, New York this summer. Comedy stars from around the country will perform at the Club, along with local performers. This intimate and comfortable comedy club is located inside the Southampton Cultural Center’s elegant and professional theater. It provides guests with an intimate and comfortable setting for an evening of laughter.

“We’re thrilled to be working with the Southampton Cultural Center, the Village’s hub for cultural, performance and community programming. Kirsten Lonnie of the Southampton Cultural Center is an incredible partner, a true patron of the arts,” said club owner Abby Russell.

Founder of the HBO-sponsored Hamptons Comedy Festival, Russell is a filmmaker and producer. Besides being a lifelong Hamptons resident, Lynn Kaplan is a veteran comedy and TV executive who worked with Louis C.K. as well as Conan O’Brien.

“We’ve worked hard to create a space that’s both inviting and entertaining, and we can’t wait to share it with the community,” Kaplan said.

A national lineup of headlining comedians will debut at Sticks and Stones Comedy Club beginning Friday, June 30. These include Carmen Lynch, Jordan Rock, Eddie Brill, Eddie Pepitone, Tom Cotter, and Liz Miele. There will be two shows each night at 7pm and 9:30pm featuring a headliner, a feature act, and a host. Year-round programming will be offered by the Club, such as Spanish-language comedy shows. The club’s opening weekend will feature headliner Carmen Lynch, a comedy darling who has been touring nationally and internationally and has appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon; and headliner Jordan Rock, who appears on Pete Davidson’s latest television show called ‘Bupkis’. Even though Rock has sold out comedy clubs across the country, he still calls himself ‘the most affordable Rock.’ His brother is Chris Rock. Both nights are hosted by local comedian Joe Winchell. Having grown up in the Hamptons and attended Pierson High School, Winchell has performed comedy in the city and on the island. He won’t have to travel far for stage time in the Hamptons now that it will have its own comedy club.

“There used to be a comedy club in Southampton in the 1980s. Judd Apatow saw many great comedians perform when he was just a teenager, because his mom waitressed there. Famed comedy manager Rick Messina (Drew Carey and Tim Allen) used to be the club’s manager. So many comedy stars performed in this beautiful beach town, and now, we’re making our stage in Southampton come alive again!” said Sticks and Stones Comedy Club owner Abby Russell.
