For its 20th season, the Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival is pulling out all the stops. Festival features new work, panel discussions, and exclusive events celebrating two decades of Black excellence in filmmaking and visual art. The festival will feature Tyler Perry’s highly anticipated film “A Jazzman’s Blues” this year, with clips and a discussion presentation scheduled for Saturday, August 6th, at 8 p.m.

The passion project, written, directed, and produced by Tyler Perry, unveils a story about forbidden love, deceit, and a secret held for 40 years. Netflix, the film’s production and streaming partner, will release the film in the Fall of 2022 following its production at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta.
