The Bonnet Bash: “Carnival of Capital Sins”
Friday, April 12

Pride, greed, lust, envy, gluttony, wrath or sloth? The Fashion Committee invites you to indulge in your favorite at The Carnival of Capital Sins at The National Arts Club.

Strut with pride through an interactive environment designed by Sarah Sparkles, stir up envy on the dancefloor to the music of Erik Rydju, indulge your gluttony with specially-themed cocktails, and lust after beautiful headwear in a one-night-only installation created by Veritee Hill.

Take your millinery inspiration from your favorite sin. Prizes for the most sinful headwear will be awarded by celebrity milliners Veritee Hill, Julia Knox and Suzanne Newman.

As a window dresser at Bergdorf-Goodman, Sarah Sparkles has contributed to the famous annual holiday windows, as well as Bette Midler’s Hulaween Party. Erik Rydju spins and curates for Armani, DKNY, J. Crew, and Christie’s.

Veritee Hill, a fashion and costume designer, is known for her attention to detail in crafting both headpieces and corsetry favored by celebrities including Cyndi Lauper and Naomi Campbell. Julia Knox trained at FIT, and is the owner and creative lead at East Village Hats. Suzanne Newman is the owner of Suzanne Couture Millinery. Her couture creations have been featured on the big screen, on the runway, and in print.
