More than 1,000 new coats, free kids’ haircuts, and hometown flavor come together as Dean and partners unite for a day of service, style, and heart in North Philly.
In true Philly fashion, heart and hustle came together this weekend as Philadelphia Eagle Nakobe Dean and his Kind Hearts 4 Lyfe Foundation teamed up with Moravia Health to host a Community Giveback Event at KIPP Philadelphia Preparatory Academy. The event, held on Saturday, October 25, wasn’t just about giving — it was about community pride, connection, and showing up for one another.
Over 1,000 brand-new coats were distributed to children and adults, ensuring families head into the colder months warm and cared for. Kids lined up for free haircuts, while small bites from Phillips Cheesesteaks added a taste of local love to the mix. The atmosphere was one part block party, one part family reunion — all powered by purpose.
“This partnership reflects the spirit of what we strive to build at KIPP — community, care, and connection,” said Natalie Wiltshire, CEO of KIPP Philadelphia Public Schools. “We’re grateful to Nakobe Dean, Kind Hearts 4 Lyfe, and Moravia Health for showing our students what it means to use your platform for good.”
Dean, known for his leadership both on and off the field, launched Kind Hearts 4 Lyfe Foundation to promote compassion and service through action. “This is about more than giving coats,” Dean said. “It’s about showing love and reminding kids that their city and schools are behind them.”
For Moravia Health, the partnership was a natural fit. As a Philadelphia-based home care agency committed to improving community wellness, joining forces with Dean and KIPP reflects their shared mission to uplift and empower families.
