Acrobats perform the Russian Bar act during Awakening at Wynn Las Vegas, soaring high above the stage with dramatic lighting.

There’s something about Las Vegas that always knows how to push the boundaries of spectacle, and Awakening at Wynn Las Vegas has once again raised the bar—literally. The acclaimed production, already a jaw-dropping blend of acrobatics, choreography, puppetry, and cutting-edge technology, has unveiled three new acts that redefine what live entertainment can be. From feats of impossible balance to edge-of-your-seat aerial stunts, Awakening is taking audiences on an even deeper dive into its mystical realms of water, earth, and air.

The additions—Shoulder Ballet, Slackwire, and Russian Bar—aren’t just “acts” dropped into the mix. They are woven into the fabric of the 80-minute immersive experience, heightening the emotion and storytelling at the core of this production.

The Shoulder Ballet
Picture this: a ballerina en pointe, balanced delicately on her partner’s head. It’s a duet of strength and grace unlike anything audiences have ever seen before. Shoulder Ballet is more than athleticism; it’s poetry in motion, suspending time in the theater for just long enough to make you question gravity itself.

The Slackwire
Enter Tang Zhe, an international Slackwire artist and Monte Carlo Circus Gold Medalist, who transforms a simple tensionless wire into a stage all its own. His every step is hypnotic, a mesmerizing balance between danger and elegance. One wrong move could mean disaster, but his artistry keeps audiences enthralled, holding their breath in awe as he glides above the stage.

The Russian Bar
And then, there’s the Russian Bar. Acrobats soar above the audience, flipping into triple somersaults that feel impossible until you see them happen with your own eyes. It’s strength, grace, and raw control colliding in mid-air. The energy in the theater becomes electric, commanding every gaze toward the skies as these fearless performers launch themselves toward the heavens and return with absolute precision.

“These new acrobatic performers push the limits of what’s possible on stage,” says Baz Halpin, Producer and Director of Awakening. “They don’t just expand the physical scale of the show but deepen its emotional impact. It is a breathtaking fusion of courage, power, and artistry that will leave you speechless.”

And he’s not exaggerating. Narrated by Academy Award-winner Anthony Hopkins, Awakening follows IO, a reluctant heroine, through fantastical realms in her quest to reunite Light and Darkness and restore balance to her world. It’s a narrative layered with illusions, dazzling costumes, and larger-than-life puppetry—but now with even more adrenaline-charged artistry at its heart.

Performed in one of the world’s most advanced 360-degree theaters, with a glass stage enhanced by custom LED visuals, Awakening has been named “Best Production Show” by the Southern Nevada Hotel Concierge Association. With its latest acrobatic feats, it reaffirms why Las Vegas remains the global capital of live entertainment.
