The City of Angels is set to come alive with creativity as the LA Art Show returns to the Los Angeles Convention Center from February 14-18, marking the commencement of the city’s 2024 art season. This year, the renowned art fair promises an international lineup that explores the intersection of memory, humanity, and artificial intelligence (AI). Opening Night Premiere Party with Lucy Hale and American Heart Association

The festivities kick off with an Opening Night Premiere Party on Valentine’s Day, hosted by award-winning actress Lucy Hale. In collaboration with its new charity partner, the American Heart Association, celebrating its centennial, the LA Art Show will donate 15% of proceeds from every ticket to the American Heart Association’s Life is Why ™ campaign.

Global Lineup and Charity Initiatives

Under the leadership of producer & director Kassandra Voyagis, the LA Art Show boasts a spectacular international exhibitor lineup, featuring galleries, museums, and nonprofits from countries such as the Philippines, Italy, Israel, Peru, and South Korea. This year’s show, with over 100 participants, emphasizes a commitment to creating a comprehensive contemporary art experience. A notable initiative is the collaboration with the American Heart Association, reinforcing the idea that art can also serve a charitable purpose.

DIVERSEartLA: Exploring Memory, Humanity, and AI

Curated by Marisa Caichiolo, the non-commercial program of the fair, DIVERSEartLA, partners with seven international art institutions to delve into the intersection of memory, humanity, and AI. Exhibits such as “The Journey” by Guillermo Bert and “Mythstories” by Carlos Castro Arias promise to ignite important dialogues around these themes.

Dain Yoon’s Playful and Profound Art

LP Gallery from South Korea will showcase the work of renowned artist Dain Yoon, known for her unique approach to face painting. Yoon’s surreal self-portraits, created by painting on her skin, often play with 3D shading, reflecting her emotional states and the complexity of identity. Having evolved creatively since her time in South Korea, Yoon’s work now embodies a more stable and confident persona.

Celebrating Black History Month

In honor of Black History Month, the Tanya Weddemire Gallery will exhibit the works of four pioneering black artists, each exploring themes of identity, culture, and resilience. This curated collection includes pieces by Guy Stanley Philoche, Serron Green, Gregory Saint Amand, and O’Neil Scott.

Additionally, the Young Masters Art Prize, presented by Cynthia Corbett Gallery, London, features emerging talents from diverse backgrounds, with a strong representation of female-identifying artists.

Community Initiative with Athletes for Life

In a unique collaboration, the LA Art Show, Expanded Learning (EXL), and Athletes for Life (AFL) Foundation launch the Southern California Art “n” the Schools Art Contest.
